About me

Work

Please refer to my professional web pages.

Since september 2006, I’m a post-doctorate researcher in computer science at the university of Savoie, France. I teach OO analysis and design to students in 1st and 2nd year of the french Master degree. On the research side, I’m working on architecture extraction and remodularization. My research domain (pre-graduation) is software engineering, metamodeling and model transformations, but my interest has shifted to more pragmatic and agile development methods, meta-programming, reengineering, and language design.

Interests

On the hobby side, besides being a mac-addict, I’m interested in computer graphics, typography and usability, and when I’m motivated I’m trying to not procrastinate too much getting some practice at drawing and digital painting.

Here is my amazon wishlist.

Software

I’m more or less involved in several software projects. Here is a short list of my contributions:

  • Squeak: a very nice (though tough on the eyes :) language and developing environment.
  • GNUstep: mostly observing and ranting, but I do intend to become helpful here :)
  • PDFView: I’m the translator for the french localization.
  • Typo blog engine: I’ve helped adding static caching.
  • Aqsis renderer and K3D modeler: I’m trying to push the build and distribution of these packages on Darwin / Mac OS (see next item).
  • DarwinPorts: I made a few experimental packages, not yet submitted.

Tenuki, nani-ka?

It’s a term in the game of Go that designates a kind of move. Tenuki 「手抜き」 denotes playing somewhere else, i.e. without answering the opponent’s last move locally. Thus the subtitle.
